With the No. 192 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have selected Kolby Listenbee, a wide receiver out of TCU.
Listenbee, who made a pre-draft visit with the Bills, is a tantalizing athlete coming off of two solid seasons' worth of production as a starter with the Horned Frogs playing opposite of first-round pick Josh Doctson. He's a 6'0", 197-pound wideout with excellent straight-line speed (4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Combine) and explosion (10'9" in the broad jump) that can win jump balls (35.5-inch vertical jump). In his four-year career at TCU, Listenbee caught 74 passes for 1,432 yards (that's 19.4 yards per reception) and nine touchdowns.
The Bills find themselves in a spaghetti-at-the-wall situation at wide receiver, where they're accumulating talented prospects in an effort to find a second or third contributor at the position, and Listenbee has the physical traits to factor into that race, if not right away. At minimum, he'll give the Bills some deep-ball insurance if Marquise Goodwin's Olympic career takes off this summer. Ironically, Listenbee was also a track star at TCU, as a four-time All-American sprinter.
Buffalo has one more pick to make in this draft, coming in at No. 218 overall. Stay tuned.
