Hamdan on Edwards (Post-concussion)

Posted by ESPN.com's Tim Graham
Edwards

Buffalo Bills third-string quarterback Gibran Hamdan spoke with reporters Wednesday about concussed starter Trent Edwards.

Hamdan provided the first real insight into how Edwards is recuperating from the wicked hit he absorbed from safety Adrian Wilson in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Hamdan and Edwards are close. BuffaloBills.com reporter Chris Brown featured their sidekick friendship last week with an article headlined "Edwards' right-hand man."

Edwards has been to the Bills facility for medical treatment but mostly has been convalescing at home. He hasn't practiced or taken part in film study, but the Bills are on their bye week.

Here's the transcript of Hamdan's interview at the Bills facility in Orchard Park, N.Y.

NFL.com: Nick Bakay's musings

" In-season trades in the NFL are incredibly rare, but that doesn't stop us from salivating at the rumors and prospects of what certain players on woeful teams might add to a bona fide contender. Two for consideration:

Tony Gonzalez: K.C. is deep into the rebuilding stage, and Gonzalez is just what a bevy of teams could use to turn up the octane on their merely solid offenses like the ones in Buffalo, Tennessee and Tamp Bay."

He is a Buffalo guy and mentions to Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger they should find their "way to the nearest bottle of Canadian Tylenol with codeine." I thought it was funny anyways. That stuff WORKS!

ESPN's Chadiha: Who's for real? Who's in Trouble

Nice photo of Marshawn on the headline. Inside a pic of Trent cocked and ready to throw. Not too in depth but good info for non-Bills fans to read. Has the Bills listed as one of his positive "Surprise Teams".

" The AFC East is wide open with Tom Brady gone for the season in New England. The Bills will be good enough to take that division title. "

Bonus: In the "Disappointments" he lists the Jags and there is an awesome pic of Schoebel and Poz (I think) wrangling Garrard.

Dr. Z's Power Rankings

Giants, Skins, Titans, Cowboys, Steelers, Pats (high for my liking), Panthers, Broncos (no way higher than the Bills with that defense), Bucs (3-2) and Bears (3-2) beat out the Bills.

Peter King continues his professional toolness, picks Cards to win

Peter King rambles on about the Bills doing well, then says it's because we played soft teams with bad records (Umm, Peter, the Raiders and Jags are not jokes.)

Anyhow, he then points out that the Bills have won four straight against the Cardinals, averaging 32.8 points. Yet he then predicts we lose 33-29. Okay, so after last weeks botchfest by King, I am now GLAD this overfed NJ bozo picked the Bills to lose; it means we get the win since he only has picked us to win once this year (the Raiders game). If old triple chin here keeps picking against us, it means we're going 16-0 regular season at this rate. Thanks King.

Edwards' right-hand man

This is a great article about Hamdan's friendship with Edwards, but very strange given JP is nowhere to be found in this story. I've thought all along that JP would finish the 2008-2009 season in Buffalo - his experience and abilities are too important in case anything happens to Edwards this season. Does anyone think the timing of this article means we might actually see the Bills trade Losman before the deadline? Buffalo has shown that they are all about team chemistry, and Losman can't be helping the team chemistry right now.

AP: Travis Henry arrested after alleged cocaine deal

Henry and James Mack were arrested a day earlier after the two met to buy cocaine from a person who was cooperating with authorities, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Yeesh, I know he's had some off the field trouble, but this is completely out of the blue.

I hope he's able to get the legal and (if necessary) drug recovery help he needs. Sounds like a bad, bad situation.
