Whitner, Reed Questionable for Bills/Eagles Finale

The AP is reporting that Donte Whitner (illness) and Josh Reed (back) are both questionable for this Sunday's matchup with the Eagles. The difference between the two players - Reed returned to practice for the first time today (Friday), while Whitner missed his third straight day with the flu. If Whitner is unable to go, expect to see him replaced by veteran Bryan Scott; Roscoe Parrish would get the starting nod at wideout should Reed miss the game, with Justin Jenkins and Sam Aiken likely to see time as well.

Reports have surfaced that attendance at Bills home games this season increased by 5% from 2006, with the Bills hitting 96.1% capacity this season (a per game average of 71,054 spectators). These totals are slightly lower than the 2005 season, when the Bills averaged 71,097 fans per game while going just 5-11. Good job, Bills fans!

Rodney McKissic of The Buffalo News has an interesting article about Buffalo's special teams. Since special teams coordinator Bobby April arrived in Buffalo in 2003, he's had the luxury of building his special teams, year in and year out, around four key players: linebackers Mario Haggan and Josh Stamer, wideout Sam Aiken and tight end/halfback Ryan Neufeld. All four are free agents this off-season. You get the picture; be sure to check this article out.

This Sunday's Bills/Eagles showdown is yet another matchup between the Schobel Brothers - Philly's Matt and our own Aaron. You hear these familial stories all the time, but it's a good read nonetheless. Of note: Aaron and the Bills have beaten Matt the first four time the brothers "faced off"; all of those came when Matt was a member of the Bengals. Can Aaron extend his streak to 5 straight?

Anybody else getting sick of hearing about the Patriots? Heck, even Dick Jauron couldn't avoid the topic this week. Two words: Go. Giants.

Sorry, folks, but this will be the only posting of the day. My family and I are wrapping up our Christmas holiday festivities with a family party this evening; I'll finally have some original writing up tomorrow morning, I promise. Go Bills!

Merry festivus
have fun and don't drink too much egg-nog, that stuff tastes terrible on the way up. (trust me)

By the way, I think I was sick of hearing about the Pats somewhere around week 4. Maybe just me though.

who would have thought I'd miss Pete Metzelaars?
