Welcome to second place in the AFC East, Buffalo! A big thanks goes out to Dock Ellis for holding down the fort in this game thread; much respect, sir! Much, much more to come on this game later on this evening and in the coming days. Go Bills!

Week 4 has arrived, Bills fans, and with it arrives the New York Jets. Today, the winless Buffalo Bills look to get that proverbial monkey off their back by gaining their first victory; meanwhile, the 1-2 Jets look to build on last week's win over the Dolphins and pick up their second straight AFC East victory. As banged up as the Bills are after three weeks of devastating injuries, this is their best early-season chance to pick up a victory - so cheer loud and cheer proud!

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a place to chat with Bills fans as the game unfolds, this is the place. I will be attending the game at The Ralph, so I won't be able to live-blog the events like usual, but esteemed user Dock Ellis will be here to keep y'all updated and chat with anyone interested. Cautiously optimistic

Count me as one of the few who is optimistic today. I'm not sold on the Jets running attack, so if the Bills D can keep Pennington in 3rd and longs (and actually stop them which they've had an issue with so far), they can keep the game low-scoring (which they'll need to to stay in it).

Unfortunately, this is one game I will not be watching from a sports bar here in NYC. Damn Jets fans.

Big Game

I'm hoping they the game here in Boston. But anyway, if Trent can play like he did that first series he was in against the Pats, I think it will be a good game.

It sucks that our linebacking crew is so jumbled, Leon Joe, I mean come on. Let's get Lee in the end zone today and get a win.

The win is huge this week so there is not another Blow-out at the Ralph next week on Monday night football. The D needs to gain confidence.

Welcome, all!

It's a special pleasure to "host" this today. I've needed to go to my trusty Bills Bar in Manhattan (McFadden's, on 42nd and 2nd) for the first three weeks, and while the spirit there has been rather remarkably high (albeit, expletive-filled and rather funereal), it's a pleasure to be at home, to a degree, here at Rumblings while I watch.

It doesn't get much worse than the first three weeks. At a certain point, injury-wise, one almost just needs to laugh. But, as the old saying goes, it's all downhill from here. Let's see some first downs. Steve Fairchild has been causing me (and many of you, I'm sure) a great deal of personal grief. We need to get more aggressive. We need to give the defense more breathers.

Our defense - WHEN IT CAN GET RESTS - is even now quite reputable. Great line work, McCargo, Williams are warhorses. Anderson and Tripplett help. Schobel and Kelsay are playing with fire in their belly.

The Jets LBs are looking a little - a LITTLE - weary and tired. Marshawn is wearing them down - him, and the fact we're getting consistent first downs.

I truly hope that the rumors that Fairchild sabotaged JP to get his guy Trent in there (playcalling-wise) are crap. But Trent's doing well. He needs to finish this.

That is something that just was needed for everyone on that squad. Dick jauron must love his life right now and feel so relieved. JP must be seriously wondering what will happen? I mean, who knows. With the dallas game and the bye, if they feel edwards is their guy, then I think you hand it over to Edwards. If you don't think he is your guy, then you bring back JP. Can't have a carousel. But I'm sure it will be asked today or tomorrow at the press conference.
