Losman wants out of Buffalo

Do you blame him though,

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/F/FBN_BILLS_LOSMAN?SITE=NYBUE&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEF AULT

Honestly i have always been a losman skeptic and never really understood why they took someone like him.  Yes, at the time we needed a good young qb but I thought the way we traded up to get him was bull.  He never amounted to much in Buffalo and I dont think he'll ever be any better then a number two qb.  So if you try to trade him, what do you get back?  Maybe a 6th or 7th rounder?  That's sad but its probably reality.

Bottom line
Losman will be in Buffalo in 2008 unless they can get, at a low, a 4th-round pick for him. Maybe a 5th. I don't blame Losman for wanting out, and with a thin QB market, he may get some action. But he shouldn't get his hopes up.

Also, I, like Fort Worth, believe that if Losman is a Bill this coming summer, he should openly compete with Edwards for the starting job.

I can't blame J.P.
I would want out too, so I can't kill him for saying it. I agree with Brian, unless the Bills get a 4th rounder or better they most likely hold onto Losman.
I'm thinking the Bills might even draft another QB this year, though probably later than the third round.
who would have thought I'd miss Pete Metzelaars?

no blame here either...
i'd feel the same way.  It's ashame, but hopefully he does get traded and can continue with a team/coach that believe in him (and as a result give him the confidnece he needs).

I don't feel sorry for him
He never took advantage of his opprotunity.  Now he's going to cry that he wants out?!  Bah, whatever.  I sit on the other side of the table on this, he will be gone no matter what.

i dont feel sorry for him either
it's a shame? what that we may lose a qb with a 14-22 career record. Or that that we may lose a qb that put 4 td to 6 int in 8 games last season. It's time to let him go. Get something for this sap and move on. How long must we watch this. We did it with Rob,Van Pelt, Bledsoe and Holcomb. Now this is a team that at one point had Jim Kelly and Frank Reich side by side. Fast forward to 2008 and we are here talking about the future of J.P LOSEman. We have the talent at rb and wr, now lets stack the lines on both sides and commit to a qb, whether it be Edwards or Joe Ferguson(if he's still available) and let's put together a playoff team. I figure that way we won't need our passports inoder to cross the boarder to watch games in a few years.

Look at the big picture

Re:
Not sure I've seen you around these parts before, nick. Welcome to the site.

At this point, isn't it painfully obvious that the LOSEman nickname is worn out? And what is the point of continuing to trash the kid when he's clearly on his way out? Embrace the fact that he's got talent, because it could very well land us a solid pick/player this off-season.

Totally and completely disagree with you about the RB/WR and O-Line/D-Line comment as well. We don't have talent at wideout, we have Lee Evans and a bunch of smurfy role players. These guys can be effective for us, but they never will be unless we can get some size to complement them. Our O-Line has already arrived - all five were healthy most of the season and gelled nicely - so we're set there too.

May be off topic
and better suited for the WR thread to come, however watching the Redskins made me wonder about WR size.  The Skins have a bunch of smallish guys too yet found ways to utilize them.  Santana Moss is hardly any bigger than Roscoe and Randle El is any different than Reed except maybe faster.  The point is, yes I want a bigger reciever, but it has become more and more obvious to me that scheme was a major if not THE problem with our offense.

true

Thank you for the kind words. I'm new here. I've been a Bills fan for a good 20 years now and am at my whits end.

I suppose perhaps JP has a future. I'm just glad it's not with the Bills. He's not a winner at this point or actually at any point in his football career.  I'm just sick of watching the limited talent we've had over the past 10 years be wasted. Sorry for trashing JP. I just can't stand him. haha
