From the mouth of John Guy: possible positions to improve through free agency
I am watching the marv levy show on channel 16 here in Roch cha cha, and Guy came in and was asked point blank, What are you planning on upgrading through free agency? Guys response was the defense. Specific players were not said but he plans on acquiring ends, linebacker, and saftey. The ends I have to question because with denney back, we should only need maybe a solid back up on the ends. We need to get someone who can compliment Big John McCargo. Someone that can stop the run.
Not really sure what free agenets will fit, but I'm glad he hopefully will be commited to offense in the first couple rounds of the draft. He seemed high on Mike Gaines(blah-butter hands), so im thinking a big wide out with the number one pick. I just want to see them improve the offense wisely because seriously, Trent needs to succeed or we are looking at another rebuilding process. And I really feel Trent can succeed. JP never had any weapons besides Evan so it would be nice to give him another wideout with talent, and a decent tight end.
Chris Brown seems to agree with me about rebuilding and the GM. He was on the show and basically said, if the new GM comes in and tries to change what has already been built the last two years then we end up being further away from the playoffs. Build on what we(marv, dick, etc) have built, because it is a stable org., imo, don't tear it down and rebuild(generally that's what a GM does, he has his own plan).
So in conclusion, I feel the Bills need to focus on improving the offense because we have some good players just not enough, and focus on defense through free agency and the later portion of the draft. But its gonna be hard to figure out who fits best with us because the new GM might want to change the scheme. So before we start throwing names out, we need to see the direction the new GM wants to go.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
