Bills starting to look elsewhere

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Bills have entered the running for restricted free agent Rashied Davis. Davis who, listed at 5-9 187 pounds, doesn't exactly fit with the tall receiver mold that the Bills are looking for. Davis was tendered an offer of $927,000 by the Bears but since he played in the Arena Football League the Bears wouldn't get any compensation for him.

In two years with the Bears Davis has had 2 low production years catching 22 passes for 303 yards in '06 and 17 for 165 in '07.

I really hope that the Bills interest in Davis is simply a message to Bryant Johnson saying,"Hey there are other options, make up your mind."

I don't see the point
What exactly is Davis going to give us besides another undersized WR?  He's an average, slightly above average kick returner, so I suppose that's what he's being looked at for. If we do bring in a kick returner, I'd much rather do it through the draft with a multidimensional player. A guy like Davis would eat up a WR roster spot being pretty much a kick returner only. We've go enough slot receivers, so he'd provide little impact, if any on the offense.

If we're going to raid the Bears' RFA's, please take a look at Brandon McGowan.

Kassim Osgood
wants out of San Diego because they only use him on special teams. He's a two time pro bowl returner but says he wants out to go to a team that will let him prove he's a receiver. He's demanded a trade and I think we could give him an opportunity to at least be a three or four receiver
CB, DLine in FA WR, WLB in Draft

One tiny correction
He's not a return man, he's a gunner. Think Sam Aiken with more red zone potential.
