This shall be a quick post in preparation for the first installment of our Positional Previews; Quarterbacks are first on deck and will be posted later on this morning.
Even with Donovin Darius rumors circling, Bills safeties Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson are ready to lead.
That's something Fewell will be looking for come training camp and the preseason.
"He knows what he's doing back there, now he's just got to be verbal with what he's doing," Fewell said of Whitner.
To be honest, I'd rather not see our young safeties get vocal until their play backs it up. Make some plays, Donte and Ko - then you can get your teammates fired up just on your play alone. No jabbering necessary - although jabbering is, indeed, fun.
Our beloved owner, Ralph Wilson, spoke about the future of the franchise. In short: he's not selling any part of the team before he passes away; he's not giving the team to his wife or daughters when he passes away; when he does finally leave us, the team will be sold to the highest bidder, regardless of that bidder's intentions of keeping the team in Buffalo.
While I (like every other Bills fan) worry about the future of the franchise in Buffalo, it's nice to see that Ralph isn't focused on that - he's focused on this year's football team. As the article says, football keeps Ralph going - and at this point, we need his leadership more than ever if we're going to get back to the playoffs in the next two years. I love our owner, and don't hold it against him that he's selling the team after his death. There's not much else he can do, after all.
