Mortensen: Brandon, Jauron summoned to Detroit

According to ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen, Buffalo Bills coaches and executives, including Dick Jauron, Russ Brandon, Alex Van Pelt and Eric Studesville, were summoned to a meeting in Detroit on Saturday. Detroit, as most of you are well aware, is the dwelling place of Hall of Fame owner Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.

Wilson conducted a give-and-take session on the team's direction after the Bills' offense sputtered during a 1-4 preseason, sources said. In addition to Jauron and Brandon, Wilson also met with the Bills' new play-caller, quarterback coach Alex Van Pelt, and Eric Studesville, running back coach and running game coordinator.

We may be able to do little more than speculate about this meeting unless more details come to light. My guess is that Ralph was looking for a little reassurance that the decision to dump Turk Schonert on the eve of the regular season opener won't turn into a Monday Night Debacle. Of course, he also could have been putting all of them on notice that the offense had better improve quickly and dramatically if they wish to still be employed in October.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
