"Gailey got his first NFL coaching job under Reeves in Denver as his special teams coach and later as offensive coordinator. Reeves’ last season as head coach was in 2003 with the Falcons, but reportedly interviewed for the 49ers offensive coordinator post just last January."

WGRZ reached out to former Gailey-connected coaches Dan Reeves, former Notre Dame and Georgia Tech DC John Tenuta, and former Bills ST coach Bruce DeHaven. None would say if there has been any contact by Gailey.

Hall of Fame Guard Billy Shaw and new coach Chan Gailey are friends. Gailey coached at Shaw's alma mater, Georgia Tech, and the two share a strong religious faith. Gailey even shared with Shaw that he was interviewing a week before being introduced.

Defensive approach will wait on coordinator |
"Bills head coach Chan Gailey’s first order of business is putting together a coaching staff as he begins preparations for the 2010 season in his first year as Buffalo’s sideline boss. It’s clear he has a concrete plan with respect to the offensive approach his team will take come September, but the defensive scheme is still up for debate."
