Ryan Fitzpatrick Gets A Little Love From Forbes

Much has been made about the quality quarterback play turned in by Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Buffalo Bills. In six starts this season, Fitzpatrick is completing 59.9% of his passes, averaging 249.8 passing yards per game (and 28 rushing yards per game), and has tossed 13 touchdowns to seven interceptions. Once the second-highest rated passer in the league (currently ranking 17th), Fitzpatrick has not yet guided the Bills to a victory this season, but his play, in general, has been impressive.

In recognition of his work, Forbes has named Fitzpatrick the NFL's "Best Quarterback For The Buck."

In the second year of a three-year, $8.1 million deal he signed last March, Fitzpatrick (who will make $2.7 million this season) beat out Denver's Kyle Orton ($5.8 million), Philadelphia's Michael Vick ($4.8 million) and Baltimore's Joe Flacco ($6 million), among others, for the honor.

Unfortunately, Forbes did not report on any extra value applied to Fitzpatrick for his terrific beard; if we're correct, and the facial hair was a determining factor in Fitzpatrick's placement atop this list, Fitz is just lucky he didn't square off with Orton in 2006.
