Buffalo Bills K Rian Lindell Quietly Back On Track

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

Generally when you're a kicker, it's better to not be in the news. It's better to make routine field goals and knock in all of your extra points. After a brief rough patch, Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell is back making kicks.

In November, Lindell had the worst three-game stretch of his career. Against the Bears in Week 8, Lindell had an extra point blocked. It was the first PAT miss of his 163-game career. He only scored one point in that game on another extra point. Following the end of the streak, Lindell missed a field goal in Weeks 9 and 10 against the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals.

Since then, Lindell has returned to his automatic ways. In the Bills' last three games, he has 19 points on five field goals and four extra points. In Week 11, he tied the game as regulation expired on a 49-yarder that forced an overtime period in which the Bills had the game within their grasp.

While Lindell's field goal percentage of 73.7% might be the third-lowest of his career, it looks like his season is back on track after a rough November.
