Bills vs. Patriots: Brian Moorman Set To Equal Chris Mohr

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

I knew Brian Moorman was close to breaking the all-time punting record for the Buffalo Bills held by Chris Mohr. I knew they both played for about the same amount of time. So I looked up how many more punts Moorman needed to pass Mohr in the record books and came across something I would have never expected.

Moorman will likely tie Mohr on the team's all-time list in total punts in the same game he ties Mohr for most games by a punter in Bills history.

This Sunday, Moorman will play in his 159th game for the Bills. That's exactly the same number as Mohr. He will also likely boot at least two punts, which would tie them for most in team history. Moorman already holds the record for punting yards and yards per punt.

I don't know what's more of an anomaly: the fact that Mohr punted 4.84 times a game despite having such a great offense powering him through most of his tenure, or that Moorman's 4.85 is as low as it is despite how terrible some of his offenses were.
