The Buffalo Bills' string of injuries on the defensive side of the ball continues. The team placed LB Reggie Torbor on season-ending injured reserve yesterday when they claimed TE Scott Chandler off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys, reports Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. When head coach Chan Gailey said that Torbor would be out for a "long time," he apparently meant the rest of the season.
Torbor signed with the Bills this June after being released by the Miami Dolphins. His seventh NFL season comes to a close due to a shoulder injury suffered last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Torbor also missed the season opener with a chest injury.
Torbor joins an ever-growing list of defenders on the injured reserve list that includes fellow linebackers Shawne Merriman, Keith Ellison, Andra Davis, and Danny Batten, as well as starting defensive end Dwan Edwards.
He finishes the year with 41 tackles in ten games, including seven starts. He also defended four passes.
If there is a silver lining to the news, it comes with an opportunity for second-year OLB Aaron Maybin to see the field and get some playing time.
