Buffalo Bills Claim Former Patriot LB Pierre Woods Off Waivers

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

I speculated the Buffalo Bills would add another linebacker to their roster this week with the injury to Antonio Coleman. They've done it already as the team claimed LB Pierre Woods off waivers from the New England Patriots.

Woods had spent his entire five-year career with the Patriots accumulating 108 tackles and 2 sacks in 54 games.

Undrafted out of Michigan, Woods signed with the Patriots in 2006. He started five games for the Patriots a year ago but was released just prior to the season but re-signed on November 17th. He was released on Friday.

While with the Patriots Woods played mainly special teams leading New England in special teams tackles in 2007 and 2009.
