Bills contact Porter but face uphill battle landing him : Buffalo Sports Daily
"So while the Bills interest in Porter appears to be legitimate, the odds of landing him aren’t in their favor. Porter has said he prefers to play on the west coast to be closer to his home in California. Presumably Buffalo would have to blow him away with a big offer to have him roaming the field in Orchard Park in 2010."

Buffalo Bills not making any noise in NFL free agency | Democrat and Chronicle
"I'm sure new general manager Buddy Nix and new coach Chan Gailey would like to bolster the roster with a few quality free agents. Unfortunately, it is not their money to spend. And the sad reality is that the Bills don't have as much money to spend as many other teams. When the Bills do spend money, it usually isn't spent wisely."

@JoeBuscaglia I think he's coming here for on and off the field reasons. Russ may knock out Nix while on clock to make this pick at #41

I know I'll get plenty of "You're an idiot" for thinking the Bills should take Tebow, but he would definitely change the culture here.

Needing Jimmy Clausen - Byline Sports
"When your top two players are an undrafted running back from Coe College and a punter, you have a big identity problem. Identity translates into ticket sales and in a small market especially this is a critical issue. It is a mirror held to the fan base. Suck it up, pay the money to support the team that performs poorly, or risk helping to make the case to move the team to Los Angeles (if the Jaguars don't beat you to it). A classic Catch 22."
