The NFL is a fraternity. Players respect players, coaches respect coaches, and even the bitterest of rivalries generally are played out between the sidelines, and don't extend beyond that realm. I get that, and respect it.
Still, Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch gushing over the New York Jets rubs me the wrong way. Before you get your knickers in a twist, it's not because it's Marshawn Lynch. If C.J. Spiller had been quoted in Tim Graham's article, I'd be writing this same post. So relax. It's not the player. It's the Jets. Really? The Jets? Nooooooooooooooo!
"I'm probably not supposed to say that, but I'm excited to see what the Jets are going to do," Lynch told me after Thursday's minicamp practices. "I'm real excited.
"Now that's a team that I'm going to pick and play with on Madden. That's real talk."
Lynch acquits himself somewhat later on in Graham's piece, so I suggest you check it out. But just as a word of warning: if Marshawn starts handing out praise to Rex Ryan, all bets are off. I can only handle so much.
