The Buffalo Bills have announced that wide receiver Felton Huggins has been waived/injured.
One of the better stories of training camp to date, Huggins had been getting consistent second-team reps at wide receiver after toiling on the practice squad for the previous two seasons. He severely injured his shoulder in a recent practice, however, and the Bills clearly felt that the injury was serious enough to make a drastic move with a solid camp player.
Huggins is free to be claimed by another team; if he clears waivers, the Bills can re-sign him and place him on Injured Reserve. An injury settlement is also a possibility.
Buffalo now has just nine receivers on their roster, and one of them, rookie Marcus Easley, is dealing with a potentially serious knee injury.
