Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson injured his left hand early in the first quarter of tonight's loss to Washington. It's an injury that will keep him from participating in Buffalo's three remaining pre-season games, and possibly beyond.
WKBW's Jeff Russo had the details during Chan Gailey's post-game press conference. WHAM's Mike Catalana adds that Gailey "hopes" that Jackson will be ready for the Bills' September 12 regular season opener, and that Jackson is currently sporting a "big" cast on his left hand and wrist.
Marshawn Lynch left the game early in the first quarter as well, and Gailey confirmed it was an ankle injury. The severity of that injury is not yet known. The injury to rookie end Alex Carrington, meanwhile, is not serious, and he should be back next week, according to Gailey.
