Poll: Should The Buffalo Bills Re-Sign Drayton Florence?

The Buffalo Bills have three prominent, veteran free agents this year in their defensive backfield. Trying to guess which of those players will be back is tough at the moment, but thus far, we know that Bills fans would much rather see George Wilson (poll) return to the team than Donte Whitner (poll).

The third piece of that puzzle is Drayton Florence, who is coming off of a fairly successful season. Though he was frequently penalized in 2010, but also finished with 58 tackles, a team-leading three interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 15 defended passes (a team high) and two scores. Insofar as defensive playmaking went last season, Florence was pretty much it.

It's very likely that Florence won't be able to negotiate with teams until a new CBA is in place, as he'll likely seek an annual salary increase of more than 30% from the last two seasons (which would put him at or above the $5 million annual range). Buffalo is thinning quickly at cornerback; they still may not overpay for D-Flo.
