We are officially one month away from the 2011 NFL Draft, which will start on Thursday evening, April 28. That little milestone has prompted a lot of rumor nuggets to emerge today, none bigger than what SI's Peter King had to say about the Buffalo Bills in today's Monday Morning Quarterback.
"The Bills like Von Miller and Patrick Peterson a lot," King writes. "Not saying they'll take either. Just saying they're high on both, and even though GM Buddy Nix has been at every top quarterback's workout, Buffalo-watchers think it's more likely the team will go defense."
This is among the first "peeks," so to speak, that we've had behind the scenes at One Bills Drive. I'm not sure how most of you reacted to this piece, but I'm breathing a sigh of relief: Peterson and Miller are unique talents, and if the Bills don't have conviction in a quarterback, then these are two of the guys that should be at or near the top of Buffalo's list. They don't necessarily need to be at the top, but it'd be foolish if they weren't final contenders.
Sanity, apparently, reigns supreme at One Bills Drive. King, by the way, also writes that both Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert will be top five picks - putting them squarely on Buffalo's radar, as well.
