It's not all bad news in the land of football today, as 2011 NFL Draft prospects will begin making their final professional auditions today as pro days start. Big-name prospects (like a certain Mr. Newton) will be on the field at their alma maters as early as next week; in the meantime, a few prominent guys will be on the field today.
Baylor's pro day is today, meaning that possible second-round pick Phil Taylor - a 337-pound nose tackle - will be on the field. Taylor is perhaps the best of a thin group of players that fits the mold of a prototypical zero-technique player in the 3-4, and a guy many Buffalo Bills fans are interested in. Taylor's teammate, guard Danny Watkins, is also a high-round projection. Both of these players were on the South roster coached by Chan Gailey at the 2011 Senior Bowl.
Another intriguing prospect will be on the field at Utah State's pro day today, with cornerback Curtis Marsh - a raw but supremely talented athlete - on the field. He is likely to garner mid-round consideration, which could make him a target for the Bills, as they need a cornerback, but may not get one early.
