I'll tell you this much about the No. 34 pick (which I actually submitted last Wednesday): like last year, after the Bills addressed a secondary need at the top of the draft, I focused solely on positions of critical need - like the Bills did when they passed on guys like Rob Gronkowski for Torell Troup. The four need positions I focused on: quarterback, offensive tackle, defensive end and outside linebacker. Let's take a quick look at some of the notable names on the board at each of those positions.
- QB: Jake Locker, Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, Ricky Stanzi
- OT: Nate Solder, Derek Sherrod, Ben Ijalana, Orlando Franklin, Marcus Gilbert
- DE: Adrian Clayborn, Allen Bailey, Christian Ballard
- OLB: Brooks Reed, Jabaal Sheard, Martez Wilson
I'll also confirm that, yes, one of those 15 names is the guy we'll end up with when the pick is announced at 9AM ET on Tuesday. (I also told my Twitter followers last week which four players were on my short list for the pick, so anyone who follows me there will be able to narrow it down here.) Anyone care to guess who joins Peterson on the Fake Bills?
