This week, my 2011 NFL Mock Draft at SBNation.com spanned two rounds. That's helpful for our discussion purposes, because for a third straight week, I've projected Texas A&M outside linebacker Von Miller to the Buffalo Bills in the first round. You've seen the pick, and you've discussed the pick.
We haven't spent as much time on second-round pick Christian Ballard, a defensive lineman out of Iowa, even though he was my second-round pick for Buffalo in a previous two-round mock completed months ago.
Though he's fallen off the radar a bit, Ballard remains one of my favorite prospects this year. Athletically, he's got it all: good natural strength throughout his frame, great speed numbers for a 283-pound player (4.8-second 40-yard dash, 7.5-second three-cone drill). He's a bit straight-line, and rather unrefined on the field, but he's got the range and upside to eventually be an excellent complement to Alex Carrington at defensive end down the line.
Take a look at the mock - I'd love to hear who everyone would've taken in the second round, should you not like the Ballard selection. (I'm expecting a lot of votes for Kyle Rudolph.)
