Former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick is now providing analysis for FOXSports.com, and today, he examined the Buffalo Bills and what they might do at the top of the 2011 NFL Draft. It's interesting that the head coach who won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer at quarterback doesn't think the Bills should be looking at quarterbacks early.
"The late season surge of journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick may help the Bills avoid the mistake of taking a quarterback with the third overall pick," Billick writes before suggesting they focus on defense. "The Bills' most recent draft choices at quarterback, J.P. Losman in 2004 and Trent Edwards in 2007, might indicate that this would be a better course of action."
In a video addendum to the article, Billick opines that the Bills should focus on fixing their defensive line.
"That has been a sore spot for the Buffalo Bills," Billick said. "They have committed a lot of resources to the defensive line over the last few years and don't have a lot to show for it."
