Yesterday, Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix appeared on WJOX-FM in Birmingham, Alabama to talk for a few minutes about the 2011 NFL Draft. While his Cam Newton commentary was the most newsworthy item of the appearance, the most interesting commentary from Nix came when he was asked about Texas A&M outside linebacker Von Miller.
"I went out to Texas A&M early in the year and looked at Von Miller, and it's kind of like a hot horse, you know, it doesn't take long to look at it, because he's a really talented guy, and makes plays, and understands the game," Nix said. "He'll be an impact player if he stays healthy in the NFL."
For those of you not boned up on equine lingo, "hot horse" is a common phrase applied to thoroughbred race horses that have a certain edge, or nervous behavior, to them due to imperfect training. (At least, that's what the almighty Google tells me. I'm allergic to horses, and thus avoid them in every medium.) I'll leave it to you to figure out if Nix was being complimentary or not, but I'm guessing he was. I think. Probably.
