The Buffalo Bills wrapped up their pre-season schedule on Thursday night with an uneventful 16-6 loss to the Detroit Lions.
As expected, Buffalo's starters saw a very minimal amount of playing time. The offense got two abbreviated series' worth of work, with Ryan Fitzpatrick completing just two of five passes for a loss of one yard. C.J. Spiller had perhaps the play of the day with a 27-yard run as starter Fred Jackson got the night off.
Defensively, two series was again the maximum playing time, and the night saw the return of Shawne Merriman to the lineup. He made a tackle for a loss in his short amount of playing time, and Buffalo's defense forced two stops of a red-hot Lions offense.
Buffalo ends their pre-season schedule with a 1-3 record, and won't play again until their regular season opener on September 11 in Kansas City. Tomorrow will be an off day for the team, and then on Saturday they'll trim their roster down to 53 players.
