The Buffalo Bills are conducting their only practice of the bye week on Wednesday afternoon, and defensive end Mario Williams is not on the field. In fact, he's not even at team headquarters, according to his teammates.
Where is the $100 million pass rusher, then? Tim Graham of The Buffalo News is hearing things about his whereabouts:
Word circulating around One Bills Drive is that Mario Williams is seeing a wrist specialist out of town today.
It was also Graham who, on Monday evening, reported that Williams is considering surgery for a left wrist injury that he has been mentioning to varying degrees since pre-season play. The Bills don't play another live football game until November 4, giving Williams 11 days to play with as he tries to take care of the issue before his new team makes a trip south to take on his old team, the Houston Texans.
Through seven games this season, Williams has accumulated 16 tackles and 3.5 sacks while becoming the second-most popular whipping boy for the team's massive defensive struggles (trailing only coordinator Dave Wannstedt).
