The Buffalo Bills are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers in a little over an hour, and as expected, they'll do so without two of their starting offensive linemen as well as a key defensive line reserve.
Cordy Glenn and Kraig Urbik, the starting left tackle and right guard (respectively), are both sitting as they recover from high ankle sprains. The same is true for third defensive tackle Spencer Johnson. Glenn and Urbik will be replaced in the starting lineup by Chris Hairston and Chad Rinehart, as expected, while Alex Carrington will get more work than usual as the top rotational defensive tackle. With Johnson sidelined, fourth defensive end Kyle Moore will also be making his regular season debut.
Also sitting out today for the Bills: quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, running back Johnny White, linebacker Kirk Morrison and strong safety Delano Howell. That means that three players listed as questionable on Friday - Rinehart, wide receiver Ruvell Martin and free safety Jairus Byrd - are all active and will be in the lineup.
One brief note on San Francisco's side: veteran running back Brandon Jacobs will not play in today's game despite being healthy enough to do so. That means that the 49ers will be running just two backs primarily today: Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter.
