The fine folks at Coors Light have sponsored a weekly post from SB Nation's NFL blogs this year based around the "reasons to celebrate" theme. The idea, of course, was that even in defeat, a fan base could find something - anything - to hang their hats on, even in defeat.
I think it's fair to add those friends of ours at Coors Light to a growing list of people that continually underestimate just how low the Buffalo Bills can continue to set the bar.
I've got nothing on this one, folks. I racked my brain trying to think of a player - or even a play - that might be worthy of recognition in a post like this. The brainstorming session yielded zilch. I thought about just giving it to last week's winner, Scott Chandler, in a sort of retroactive give-up maneuver, but then I remember that he was the one fumbling away an additional seven points prior to halftime in yesterday's 45-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. There goes that idea.
No one player or moment from yesterday is deserving of recognition, so we're recognizing the fact that we, as fans, emerged from yesterday's nightmarish trip to football's hellscape mostly unscathed. Sure, we're bitter, pissed off, embarrassed, disgusted and every other adjective with negative connotations, but the game ended. It ended many hours ago, in fact. Cheers to that.
