Seemingly out of nowhere, the Buffalo Bills have announced that this weekend's game against the St. Louis Rams at Ralph Wilson Stadium is officially sold out, and that the game will be televised locally.
Team CEO Russ Brandon revealed on WGR 550's The Howard Simon Show that a local restaurant owner purchased an undisclosed number of remaining tickets to ensure the sellout.
Just a few weeks ago, the team was providing a gloomy forecast about the odds of this game being televised, as at one point recently there were between 10 and 15,000 tickets remaining. A more consistent team since their bye week (they're 2-2 in that time frame), and perhaps a resounding win last weekend over Jacksonville, apparently helped the team make a late surge.
As such, the game - which kicks off at 1:00 PM ET - will be televised in Western New York on FOX. The Bills will be wearing throwback uniforms against the Rams to celebrate the 1964-65 Bills teams that won back to back AFL championships.
