The Buffalo Bills released defensive end Shawne Merriman today, so now is as good a time as any to make one final change to our unofficial depth chart before the team makes its first round of cuts next Monday. As it stands now, they'll need to cut 13 players at that time.
The big mover, of course, is fourth-year veteran defensive end Kyle Moore, a 2009 fourth-round pick that came to Buffalo late in 2011 via the Detroit Lions' practice squad. A strong performer this summer, Merriman's release now makes Moore a second-teamer and a strong bet to make the team's 53-man roster come September 1.
We've re-arranged other positions, as well, though if you've been paying attention throughout training camp, you'll probably only notice minor tweaks, as opposed to massive changes. Let us know where you think we're wrong - again, this is an unofficial depth chart - and talk more about the Merriman release and its ramifications if you're so inclined.
