The Buffalo Bills made two roster moves today, first placing wide receiver David Nelson on injured reserve. Taking his spot on the roster is a familiar face in running back Johnny White. White will be the third running back while Fred Jackson recovers from his knee injury.
White was the Bills' fifth-round draft choice in 2011, but lost his spot on the roster to Tashard Choice early in training camp as he was hampered by an ankle injury. White appeared in 11 games a year ago, tallying 12 rushing attempts for 38 yards.
Nelson injured his knee late in the game against the New York Jets on a cut away from the play. He has confirmed the injury as a torn ACL. With this move, the Bills show they are comfortable with the depth at wide receiver and will continue as planned, with rookie T.J. Graham expected to see an expanded role.
