Bills vs. Browns Week 5 injury report: C.J. Spiller, Leodis McKelvin questionable

C.J. Spiller, Leodis McKelvin and Jairus Byrd may all end up being game-time decisions for the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns.

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

Three key Buffalo Bills players have been listed as questionable for tomorrow night's game against the Cleveland Browns, while six starters are virtual locks to play at this point with probable designations.

C.J. Spiller did not practice at all this week, and will likely be a game-time decision as he tries to push through an ankle sprain suffered in the second half against Baltimore. If he can't go, Fred Jackson - probable with a knee sprain, and likely to wear a brace - and Tashard Choice will split running back reps, and the team may make a roster move to get practice squad back Ronnie Wingo onto the active roster.

Listed as questionable alongside Spiller are defensive backs Leodis McKelvin and Jairus Byrd. Both could also be game-time decisions; McKelvin missed Sunday's win over Baltimore, while Byrd has yet to appear in a game, exhibition or regular season, this year. If McKelvin can't play, Aaron Williams - probable with a back bruise - will probably play cornerback for a second straight week, leaving Da'Norris Searcy and Jim Leonhard at safety (unless, of course, Byrd suits up).

Stevie Johnson and Kraig Urbik are probable on offense with their respective ailments, and both Kyle Williams and Mario Williams will also play through their respective lower leg injuries. The usual suspects have been ruled out: receiver Marquise Goodwin, cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Ron Brooks, and kicker Dustin Hopkins.

On Cleveland's side of the coin, Sheard is the notable name; he missed the Browns' Week 4 win over Cincinnati, replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Barkevious Mingo. That is likely to happen again. Shawn Lauvao, the team's starting right guard, also missed last week's game, but is listed as questionable this week. If he can't go, Oniel Cousins will take his place in the lineup.
