The Buffalo Bills have been getting major contributions from their rookies and perhaps none has been bigger than that from Kiko Alonso, who was named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month on Thursday. Alonso is the first Bills rookie to receive the award since Jairus Byrd in 2009.
Alonso leads the league in tackles (32) and interceptions (4) at the quarter pole in addition to a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, and four passes defenses. He has played every defensive snap of the year for Buffalo and calls Mike Pettine's defense on the field. In short, he has more than made up for any rookie mistakes in his first month on the job.
Congratulations, Kiko!
