As it turns out, reserve guard J.J. Unga may have a much larger opportunity for playing time when the Buffalo Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.
Kraig Urbik has his left foot in a boot and did not practice on Wednesday. Bills head coach Doug Marrone told reporters that Urbik is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's contest, and that if he can't play, Unga will get the start at right guard. Unga played seven snaps in last Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay, with Urbik taking the other 60 snaps at the position.
The only other Bills player that did not practice on Wednesday was defensive lineman Kyle Williams, who was given his customary rest day as he continues to nurse the Achilles ailment that has affected him for years. Kiko Alonso, meanwhile, was a limited participant with a knee injury, but Marrone cautioned that his rookie middle linebacker simply needed some rest. Alonso has played every snap on defense (941 of them, to be exact).
Buffalo has played two straight games at full health, so it was only a matter of time before another injury popped up. This time, it hit an offensive line coming off of easily its worst performance of the season.
