Bills vs. Jaguars: which Jacksonville player would help Buffalo most?

If you could hand-pick one player off of the Jacksonville Jaguars roster to add to the Buffalo Bills, who would it be?

Sam Greenwood

Congratulations! You have inherited the GM post of the Buffalo Bills from Doug Whaley for a day. David Caldwell, GM of the Jacksonville Jaguars, gives you a call and tells you that to welcome you to your first NFL gig, he's going to let you pick one player off of his roster to add to the roster you inherited from Whaley, making him a very magnanimous peer indeed. Which Jaguar would you like to steal?

The Jaguars are not exactly overflowing with name talent, but there are some interesting names of note. Maurice Jones-Drew is easily their most well-known player; perhaps you envision him as a worthy addition to Buffalo's backfield, even though that is clearly not the team's biggest need. Cecil Shorts III has made strong impressions at wideout in his first two pro seasons, but then again, the 6'0", 202-pound player is skill redundant with some of the Bills' current receivers.

Marcedes Lewis is probably the offensive player in Jacksonville that fills the biggest need. He'll be 30 in May, and his production has never matched his draft status, but he's a big player that can win in traffic, and would bring far more athleticism to the position than the Bills can currently offer.

Defensively, the Jaguars are improving, and their strength over the long term appears to be in the secondary, where Dwayne Gratz is making strong impressions as a rookie cornerback, and Jonathan Cyprien has shown flashes at safety. Both were 2013 draft picks (Gratz in the third round, Cyprien in the second). And since you're always on the lookout for a second inside linebacker, perhaps you'd like to re-inherit one Paul Posluszny.

Don't forget about specialists, either. Buffalo will need a punter upgrade this off-season, and Bryan Anger is one of the more promising young punters in the league.

Which Jaguar would you like to poach, new Bills GM?
