The 4-9 Buffalo Bills are playing out the string, and they'll begin the final three-week push of their 2013 season with a road game agains the 4-9 Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon in Florida.
Jacksonville enters this game the much hotter team. They've won four of their last five games after an 0-8 start, while the Bills are 1-5 in their last six contests. Jacksonville is also the more beat up team, however; they'll play this game without their leading rusher (Maurice Jones-Drew) and their two leading receivers (Cecil Shorts III and Justin Blackmon), while the Bills have seven healthy scratches for the game.
Buffalo, however, has their own hurdles to overcome. They're just 1-6 in games played outside of Ralph Wilson Stadium this season, and quarterback EJ Manuel in particular has struggled on the road. He, and the Bills, are coming off of their worst performance of the season, a 27-6 drubbing in Tampa Bay last Sunday. If the Bills are going to avoid their typical road game misfortune today, they'll take care of their own issues, and not worry so much about who is or isn't playing for the Jaguars.
This is your open thread for the first half of today's game. Go Bills!
