When the Buffalo Bills take on the Miami Dolphins in their home finale early this afternoon, they'll do so without the services of three starters: quarterback EJ Manuel, wide receiver Stevie Johnson and safety Aaron Williams.
Manuel, of course, was ruled out earlier this week with a knee sprain that swelled up on him earlier in the week. Bills head coach Doug Marrone expects Manuel to be back for next week's season finale; in the meantime, Thad Lewis will take snaps under center. He's making his fourth start of the season today. Jeff Tuel will serve as his backup.
Johnson has been excused from the team this week to mourn the sudden loss of his mother. Robert Woods, T.J. Graham and Marquise Goodwin will pick up the slack at receiver, with Chris Hogan likely to see a bigger share of reps as well. Williams injured his ribs last week against Jacksonville; he was replaced by a combination of Da'Norris Searcy and Jim Leonhard, and that's likely what will happen again today.
Buffalo's four other inactive players today are all healthy scratches: running back Ronnie Wingo, guards Mark Asper and Antoine McClain, and cornerback Brandon Smith.
