Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel returned to practice on Tuesday as the team began preparations for their regular season finale on Sunday in New England, but his status for the game remains unclear.

Bills head coach Doug Marrone confirmed to reporters that Manuel practiced, but would only say that his starting quarterback's knee - and more importantly, his mobility - would be reevaluated on Thursday, when the Bills return to practice following tomorrow's holiday. His status for the game therefore remains up in the air for the Patriots game.

Running back Fred Jackson, who ran for 111 yards with broken ribs in Sunday's win over Miami, was given a rest day on Tuesday, so it's sounding like he'll be available for Week 17. Aaron Williams did not practice on Tuesday after missing the Miami game with a rib injury of his own, and Marrone said he'd be reevaluated on Thursday like Manuel. The team's other missing starter, Stevie Johnson, remains away from the team as he mourns the death of his mother, and Marrone on Monday didn't sound optimistic that he'd have his top receiver on Sunday.
