Oft-injured McGee wonders ‘what if’ as Bills career ends - Sports - The Buffalo News

"You wonder, 'What would it have been like if I stayed healthy?' That's what I don't want to leave the game wondering. I know it would eat me up for the rest of my life. I want to be healthy for a season and then be able to leave the game with my head held high."

You can sense how hard it was for Terrence McGee to get the call from the Bills, and also how hard he worked to overcome his recent football injuries. He's open to the idea of a return to Buffalo, but knows he needs to get his knee healthy before any team will sign him. As one of the bright spots over the last several years, it's tough to see a guy like McGee go, and it's obviously tough for him to leave, too.

CB Terrence McGee released by Bills -
"McGee struggled through the 2012 season as he battled back from knee surgery. He played in seven games for the Bills before going on injured reserve November 6th. McGee’s injury problems mounted over the last three seasons, as he played in just nine games in 2010 and six in 2011."

"Dragging himself on the field every day at training camp this past summer and doing everything he could to be available to play was nothing short of admirable. It often took him 25-30 minutes just to warm his recovering knee up."

McGee: "But I was just there to have the doctor look at my knee and met with the coaches. As soon as I got home, before I even got off the plane, I had a voicemail."

Bill release cornerback Terrence McGee | Democrat and Chronicle
"With 17 career interceptions, 103 pass breakups, and 543 tackles, he made his greatest impact on special teams by becoming the team’s all-time record-holder for kickoff return yards (5,450), kickoff return attempts (207) and kickoff return touchdowns (5). His 26.3 kickoff return average is fifth-best in team history."

Terrence McGee released by rebuilding Buffalo Bills -
"McGee might catch on elsewhere, but ending three of his last four seasons on injured reserve certainly doesn't debunk any theories he's in full breakdown mode at age 32."

"Mike Florio runs down the Bills biggest off-season needs and says it’s time to pull the plug on Ryan Fitzpatrick, but only if they can find a suitable replacement. Florio also believes it’s time the Bills get a No. 2 wideout to line up opposite Stevie Johnson, and improve on the defense - preferably by getting ‘nastier’.'
