Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix spoke to reporters at the team's pre-draft luncheon on Tuesday, and now the dangerous game of trying to discern the team's draft plans from within the spun labyrinth of Nix's words (and those of his cohorts) has begun. Nobody plays that game with as much fervor - or as much success - than WGR 550's Joe Buscaglia.
If you haven't read Buscaglia's post-luncheon column, titled Deciphering Buddy's Code, now is the time. There's plenty to chew on in there, but we're going to focus on his two main points:
- The Bills are leaning hard towards taking a quarterback with the No. 8 overall pick; and
- Assuming Geno Smith is off the board, the choice is down to Matt Barkley and Ryan Nassib.
Buscaglia's thought process is explained in the article (seriously, just read it already), and his reasoning is sound. These two quarterbacks are the most pro-ready and scheme-compatible for what the Bills plan to do offensively.
Naturally, we thought it prudent to put this to a poll: if Buscaglia is right and it's really down to Barkley versus Nassib for the Bills, which prospect are you pulling for? The poll is open and the comments section is ready for a huge debate.
