SiriusXM NFL Radio host Adam Caplan on Tuesday evening tweeted that veteran fullback Spencer Larsen was making a free agent visit with the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills are in the market for a fullback because Corey McIntyre, who has spent the last five years of his career in Buffalo, remains an unsigned free agent. Poised to potentially lose a solid fullback option and a core special teams player, the Bills are kicking the tires on a player cut from similar cloth: the 6'2", 243-pound Larsen is a former linebacker and would offer versatility and special teams ability to Buffalo's roster.
There are, however, injury concerns with Larsen, who missed the entire 2012 season with an undisclosed ailment in New England, and also saw his Denver career come to an end in 2011 when he was put on waivers due to injury. Larsen was a sixth-round pick out of Arizona in 2008, when Josh McDaniels was running the show in Denver.
It'll be interesting to see if Buffalo's interest in Larsen is legitimate, or if they're merely entertaining fullbacks to try to get McIntyre to lower his asking price. The Bills were reportedly interested in re-signing McIntyre as of late February and early March, at least.
