Two more high-profile 2013 NFL Draft prospects will be visiting the Buffalo Bills' team headquarters this week, according to various reports.
USC quarterback Matt Barkley tweets that he's en route to two scheduled visits - one with the Bills, the other with Cleveland. It's not yet clear when that visit will occur, but it might not be today if he's swinging by Cleveland first. Buffalo has already had four quarterbacks visit One Bills Drive within the past week, and another three - a list that now includes Barkley - will be making the trip to Western New York.
Additionally, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo will visit the Bills this week, as well. One of the most athletic pass rushers available this year, the 6'4", 241-pound Mingo is an explosive athlete (4.58 in the 40, 37-inch vertical jump) that finished his three-year career with 29 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks. A similar athlete to Manny Lawson, he'd profile as a SAM linebacker type in Mike Pettine's defense, but with much more pass-rushing upside than Lawson offers.
By our count, Barkley and Mingo now make it a reported eight prospects that have visits scheduled with the Bills that aren't among the 14 players that the team has already confirmed have passed through team headquarters. Those eight players: Barkley, Tyler Wilson, Matt Scott, Jeff Tuel, Justin Hunter, Dion Jordan, Mingo andTyrann Mathieu. Each NFL team is allowed 30 pre-draft visitors per year.
