Buffalo Bills quarterbacks: Matt Leinart, John Beck to work out

With their top two quarterbacks injured, the Buffalo Bills are reportedly going to work out a pair of veteran quarterbacks soon.

EJ Manuel has been on the shelf since the second preseason game with a knee injury, and Kevin Kolb exited Saturday's drubbing against the Washington Redskins early on with "concussion-like symptoms". That leaves Jeff Tuel as the only healthy quarterback on the Buffalo Bills roster - but not for long. GM Doug Whaley noted after the game that the Bills would look to add a veteran, and have wasted no time in targeting available signal callers.

The Bills will work out veterans John Beck and Matt Leinart in the near future, per FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo. Beck has seven starts for the Miami Dolphins and Redskins over his six-year NFL career, while Leinart has an 8-10 record as a starter since being passed on by Buffalo so they could take Donte Whitner in 2006.

Only a handful of NFL quarterbacks could come in and quickly make a true difference in the quarterback competition. Aaron Corp (not to be confused with "Andy Corp") was with the Bills during minicamp, but was released following the draft. He recently re-signed with Miami. Tarvaris Jackson was cut in June and quickly signed with his old team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Other notable names on the list of potential signings include the recently released Graham Harrell, Tyler Thigpen, and Byron Leftwich. Head coach Doug Marrone also said Brad Smith would take snaps to get the team through the week.
