There is not a lot of wiggle room on the inactive list for the Buffalo Bills this week as green players will be pressed into service against the Carolina Panthers. With five players ruled out earlier in the week and one listed as doubtful, the only real question was going to be the seventh player on the list.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore, kicker Dustin Hopkins, cornerback Ron Brooks, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, and offensive lineman Doug Legursky were all ruled out. Hopkins is the closest to returning and could be back next week while the other four will all be out at least three more weeks per head coach Doug Marrone. Jairus Byrd is inactive with plantar fasciitis in both of his feet. The lone healthy scratch was tight end Chris Gragg who will be on the sideline for the second straight game to start his career.
Cornerback Johnny Adams, recently signed off the team's practice squad, is active for the first time in his young career. The undrafted free agent joins Jeff Tuel and Nickell Robey as 2013 undrafted players to be active for the Bills on gameday.
For the Panthers, running back Kenjon Barner and cornerback James Dockery were ruled out on Friday. Melvin White, Brian Folkerts, Brandon Williams, Sione Fua, and Wes Horton join them on the inactive list.
