Jairus Byrd leaves 2014 Pro Bowl early with injury

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd had an injury scare during the 2014 Pro Bowl, but came out of the situation unscathed.

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd, a pending 2014 free agent, left the Pro Bowl early on Sunday night with an injury.

The nature of the injury has not been disclosed, but Byrd was able to walk off the field under his own power after spending a few minutes down in pain on the field. He did not return to the game - his team, assembled by Jerry Rice, won a 22-21 squeaker - but he watched the duration of the game from the sidelines.

After the game, Byrd took to Twitter to calm some fears.

You'll recall that Byrd missed the first five games of the 2013 season with plantar fasciitis (and after missing all of training camp in a contract dispute), so it's good news for him that his stock won't take a ding due to injury this offseason.

Marcell Dareus picked up two sacks in his team's winning all-star effort, while Mario Williams also nabbed a sack for the losing team.
