In case you had any lingering doubts whatsoever, make no mistake about it: Sammy Watkins is the unquestioned top target in the Buffalo Bills' passing offense. After a nine-catch, 122-yard, two-score performance in a 17-16 win over Minnesota, Watkins now leads the Bills in receptions, has a commanding team lead in receiving yardage, and is the only Bills receiver to score multiple touchdowns this season.
But for a second straight week, the little-known Chris Hogan continued to emerge as a favorite target of veteran quarterback Kyle Orton, as well. Now firmly entrenched as the team's third receiver - ahead of Mike Williams, for certain, and Marquise Goodwin in most situations - Hogan has seen his playing time increase dramatically in the last two weeks, and has made his opportunities count to the tune of 10 receptions, 135 yards, and a touchdown in those contests.
Still, on a per-snap basis, no Bills receiver is targeted more often than veteran running back Fred Jackson - though Hogan has made a strong run for that honor. Here is the breakdown of the Bills' passing game targets heading into a Week 8 road matchup with the New York Jets.
