We have reached another end, Buffalo Bills fans: the end of another season. After the Bills conclude today's regular season finale against the New England Patriots, they'll have wrapped up their fifteenth consecutive season without making the playoffs.
At 8-7, the Bills are guaranteed their first non-losing season in a decade, and an upset win over the Patriots - who have nothing to play for, having already locked up the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC playoff race - would not only give the Bills their first winning record since 2004, but also their first-ever win at Gillette Stadium. Sure, those are moral victories, but they would be victories all the same.
Still, this is Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Patriots-Bills series we're talking about. It's pretty safe to assume that the Pats won't take it too easy in their final postseason tune-up game, and the Bills are missing two key starters on defense, as well.
This is your open thread for the first half of today's game; Matt Warren will take charge of coverage from this point forward. Enjoy the last game of the season, folks. Go Bills!
