Bills vs. Patriots, 2014 NFL week 17: second half open thread

Can the Buffalo Bills hold on against the New England Patriots?

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills have used big plays in the passing game and solid red zone defense to build a 17-6 lead over the New England Patriots. Can they hold on in the second half with the Patriots not having anything to play for?

Kyle Orton is 11-of-15 for 143 yards and a touchdown including a 43-yard catch-and-run to Sammy Watkins. Dan Carpenter sent his franchise-record 34th field goal of the season through the uprights to push the Buffalo lead back to 11 points late in the second quarter.

On defense, Buffalo has held Tom Brady to just a 50% completion percentage and the Patriots' rushing attack to just 48 yards. They were able to hold New England to just a field goal after a Kyle Orton fumble gave them the ball in Buffalo territory and have held the Gronkowski-less Patriots to two red zone field goals in total.

Stay tuned here as the Bills finish out their 2014 season and leave your thoughts in the comments section.
